The Rippy Trail has gone through a number of incarnations, from a social hiking trail to a social ATV trail, destruction in the storms of 2012, and its rebirth as a re-routed, re-designed sustainable ATV trail in 2014. Perched on the toes of the mountains forming the north side of the Knik River Valley, this trail provides breathtaking views of the valley, the Knik Glacier, Pioneer Peak, and Knik Arm. Mountain bikers, hikers, and ATV riders alike have found the trail fun to ride. The only drawback is that it is too short! The trail features a 55 foot bridge at the mouth of the sheer rock-walled canyon where Jim Creek pours out of the mountains.
